The Town of Floyd is in the last phase of updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, which is a document containing strategic components for long-range planning, designed to guide decisions relating to growth, development activities, and resources within the town.  The Planning Commission, town staff, and NRVRC staff spent twelve months preparing the Comprehensive Plan. At their last meeting which was held on September 26, 2018, the Planning Commission recommended the draft plan for approval by the Town Council. The plan adoption hearing is scheduled for November 1, 2018. The key themes and priorities that shaped the document’s contents are illustrated above.

As part of the community outreach to encourage public participation, the Regional Commission produced a video providing an overview of the comprehensive plan process, as well as the key issues and trends addressed by the plan.  The video is published on the web at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=601_hwZpm-g and can be opened by any web browser.
