In the last week of September, the NRV Passenger Rail Station Authority held their first official meeting. The Authority was certified by the Commonwealth at the beginning of the month which enabled board members to take the oath of office at their first meeting. Other items of business included reviewing the project progress timeline since the initiative started in 2013, a review of the enabling legislation that established the Authority, and a collective exercise to build the work program for the Authority. The next meeting will take place in late November and will cover appointment of staffing, legal services, and development of bylaws. The Authority anticipates setting a regular meeting schedule in the New Year.
