The New River Valley Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Users’ Group kicked off on Jan 19. GIS users from all over the region came together for the first time since the pandemic to re-establish a working group with the goal of fostering collaboration to provide localities, planners, and residents with the most up-to-date and complete geospatial data. Representatives from Radford, Pulaski County, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Virginia Tech, and the Regional Commission participated. The NRV GIS Users’ Group will meet on a quarterly basis for collective problem-solving, professional development, and camaraderie.
