The Regional Commission updated NRV Data.org to reflect Virginia Tourism Corporation's (VTC) 2017 Economic Impact of Travel figures. VTC publishes this data annually and includes topics like expenditures, tax collections, and payroll. The New River Valley, as a region, has seen a 20% increase in tourism related expenditures, up to $278 million in 2017.
