The New River Valley Green Infrastructure Initiative will strive to protect and conserve the region's unique natural, agricultural, and cultural characteristics for current and future generations through education and the application of sound science to address natural resource management challenges.
Purpose
The New River Valley Green Infrastructure Steering Committee will serve as an advisory group, providing direction to the NRVPDC, and ultimately to local jurisdiction staff, City and Town Councils, and County Boards of Supervisors in the development and implementation of a regional green infrastructure plan. The Committee will also serve as an open forum for sharing information, building local communication networks, and increasing awareness and understanding of resource management issues.
