The New River Valley MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is available for your input!

Over the last two years, the MPO worked closely with local stakeholders to develop a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. The purpose of the plan was to develop a long-range multimodal transportation system strategy. View the plan interactively here, or click here to download the pdf.

The planning process was led by a sub-committee of the MPO. Sub-committee participants included representatives from localities within the 2013 expanded planning area, existing transit providers, universities, and community stakeholders. To complete the plan, the MPO sub-committee utilized the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation's (DRPT) Multimodal System Design Guidelines to create a multimodal system plan.
