RIDE Solutions staff had the opportunity to support several community events this fall. During Blacksburg’s Sustainability Week, RIDE Solutions worked with local partners to host the bike valet at the end of the Sustainability Week Bike Parade, making it possible for participants to enjoy the farmers’ market after safely docking their bikes. September 22 was a busy day for Bike Valet – all four racks were full (about 40 bikes) at the market and the racks were also filling up over at the Blacksburg Partnership’s Brew Do.
RIDE Solutions offers the bike valet arrangement for local events wanting to encourage cycling as transportation to reduce parking demand and offer safe parking to cyclists. The organizing group provides volunteers to staff the valet and RIDE Solutions offers the equipment and training free of charge.
