The 11th annual Livability in Action event was held on March 26th at the German Club Manor. Nearly 150 participants attended, representing local government staff, nonprofits, and community members. Eleven lightning round presentations highlighted the diverse and dynamic work happening across the region, including updates about topics such as passenger rail, early childhood education, trauma informed care, permanent supportive housing, food insecurity, and parks and recreation. Participants were also given short updates about several local and regional efforts presented on at past Livability events. The event is hosted each year by the Community Foundation, Regional Commission, and Livability Leadership team, and was sponsored by Virginia Housing.
