Emma recently joined the Regional Commission as our Regional Innovation Officer. In this role, she administers Virginia’s Additive Manufacturing and Advanced Materials Tech Hub initiative. Supported by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and GO Virginia, the AM2 Tech Hub aims to position Southwest Virginia as a global leader in additive manufacturing and advanced materials solutions.
Emma holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy and Planning and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Tech, where she focused on economic and community development. Before joining the Commission, she worked as a Research Associate at the Virginia Tech Center for Economic and Community Engagement and as a Program Assistant for the Virginia Talent and Opportunity Partnership.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys hosting a weekly jazz radio show and exploring the region's natural beauty on hikes with her husband, Jack.
