Workforce Development is a critical activity every month, but in September, the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board will have several events highlighting a variety of initiatives.
New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board has a new brand! All across the Commonwealth, workforce boards and career (One-Stop) centers will take on the Virginia Career Works brand. Staff and partners across the region have been participating in Living the Brand training to prepare them for the roll out that will happen this month. Be on the lookout for the new signage and notices of events.
Also in September, the region will officially begin its work to become ACT Work Ready Communities. ACT Work Ready Communities (WRC) empowers states, regions and counties with data, processes and tools that drive economic growth. All 21 localities of SWVA have been actively preparing to “be lit up” on the ACT site by participating in four Academies and collecting data that will guide a two year journey to reach goals.
