Do you have a passion for making connections, supporting innovation, and engagement across communities to help create a recovery ecosystem in our communities? The New River Valley Regional Commission, a planning agency located in beautiful southwest Virginia, is seeking team-oriented and experienced Community Accountability Coordinator(s) for this work. This work can be divided geographically to create multiple part time positions or may be a dedicated full time position to cover multiple jurisdictions. The position(s) will play an important role in helping local governments and service organizations proactively plan and execute programs and services to address prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction work in the New River Valley. The Coordinator(s) will provide facilitation of activities and oversight in each of the participating jurisdictions in this innovative team approach to supporting our communities and individuals impacted by opioid misuse. This position will commit to ensuring local community education and engagement as well as troubleshooting process and access issues of participants. Additionally, the Coordinator will promote specific and generalized educational campaigns to educate citizens about community well-being and the realities and myths of addiction.
The successful candidate will enjoy working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that includes professionals in public health, public relations, substance use treatment and prevention services, supportive housing, health care, local governments, and partner agencies. The Coordinator(s) will join a team at the Regional Commission comprised of community and economic development planners, grant writers, finance professionals, and GIS specialists.
These new grant-supported positions will contribute to various projects in an environment where continued professional growth is encouraged and expected. Experience in public administration, public health, planning, or public relations is desired. Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience. Hiring range is $40,248-$60,000 (full time) with an excellent benefits package or $25-35/hour (part time), DOQ, EOE.
