Each year the Regional Commission hosts a luncheon meeting of the chief elected officials and chief administrative officials from across the region. The purpose of the meeting is to provide brief updates on regional initiatives while each community shares their most pressing issues.
On October 3rd NRV Rail 2020 hosted a reception coordinated by the Blacksburg Partnership public-private coalition to extend passenger rail service from Roanoke to Christiansburg. Approximately 75 leaders from across the region attended to show support for the multi-year effort.

Five clean-up events in the New River Valley brought citizens and students together for the fourth regional ReNew the New River Clean-up. Building off the success of the last three years, this year’s event amplified the NRV tradition of volunteering by cleaning up 25 miles of waterways and roads.
