Annual Dinner

The New River Valley Regional Commission 2017 Annual Dinner will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 6 pm at Doe Creek Farm in Pembroke. Live music by RYZ will play until 7:30 pm.  At 7:30 there will be an awards program to recognize this years award recipients:

Doe Creek Farm Agribusiness Tour

Doe Creek Farm is a family owned and run apple orchard located in Giles County. They have taken out the old commercial orchard and planted a new, pick-your-own dwarf orchard. They also feature a wedding venue and dog kennel on the property.

New River Water Trail Tour

Join us for a rafting float trip on the New River Water Trail! The New River Water Trail stretches 37 miles flowing through Giles County. The water trail highlights river activities like award-winning fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, stand up paddle boarding and swimming, but also connects with hiking trails, wildlife viewing, local lodging and dining options, and the immense variety of experiences waiting in Giles County.  During the float trip you’ll learn about the river as a reimagined economic engine for the county.

Downtowns Van Tour

Join a driving tour of Giles County towns to learn more about the wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities that Giles County communities provide, and the efforts of Giles County towns to redevelop their downtown areas. We’ll highlight recent investments and proposed projects that will help the towns to promote outdoor recreation and attract visitors, and support downtown revitalization and business development in downtown areas.
